notes: Peter Buck and Scott McCaughey joined Wilco on stage for 'California Stars' during their set. Jesse Greene joined on violin on 'Electrolite'.
Mike Mills became choked up as he dedicated 'Find The River' to Warren Zevon, who died in the L.A. area shortly before the Sept. 7 show. He barely managed to say Zevon's name, had to pause to gather himself to say the name. '(Don't Go Back To) Rockville' was dedicated to June Carter Cash. Band intros started with Ken Stringfellow who Stipe said got married on the 9th. 'Fall On Me' and 'Final Straw' were introduced as e-mail requests.
"Tony Clifton" helped with lead vocals on 'Man On The Moon', a character of Andy Kaufman's. It wasn't announced who was dressed up as Tony, but he sang a bit in the middle of the song from offstage, walked onstage, argued with Stipe, shoved Stipe halfway across the stage and Stipe fell on his butt. A little later, after more arguing, he threw a cup of water on Stipe and threw the lyric sheets into the air, into the pit. A bodyguard came out and managed to get Tony off the stage, but he came right back out because as he left, Mills kicked him in the butt. He got a cup of water and poured it over Mills' head. Then he went across the stage and threw a cup at Buck, largely missing, who swung his guitar into Tony's back and the song ended, stage emptied for the encore break. Tony's appearance was foreshadowed when Stipe changed the lyric "Fred Blassie" to "Tony Clifton".

He said that his nephew has just now has come to understand what it is that he does for a living. He also asked Stipe over the phone that day whether or not he would gamble and also if he would wear an "evil warrior suit". He remarked by stating that it would be a gamble to wear such a suit. He said this a few songs later in the set. 'Nightswimming' is played in the memory of September 11. Stipe forgets his lines 3/4 of the way the way through, and to rectify this, he sings 2 lines a capella to bring Mike and Ken back in.
